Where is your business located?

We are based in Monterey, California, and we service the greater Monterey Peninsula and Central Coast region year-round. Our remote business model allows us to provide creative design services to clients around the world, and our zest for adventure allows us to deliver full-service catering provisions to event hosts who wish to bring the Bricōläge experience to the table for the guests abroad.

What services does Bricōläge offer?

At our core, Bricōläge provides full-service catering, event design and coordination, custom stationery suites, menu development, and logistical management for everything from elopements to large-scale corporate events. However, in the spirit of bricolage (making art with what’s at hand) our services are intentionally expansive and ever-evolving. We thrive as multi-faceted, detail-driven creatives, and our proposals are often shaped by what’s needed, what’s possible, and how we can best support your event from concept to completion. You dream it, and we will create a path to building the real thing.

Can clients visit Bricōläge in-person?

Yes, we would love to meet! Visits are by appointment only, and we recommend setting up your visit at least 1-month in advance. We often suggest meeting at or near your desired event venue whenever possible. We find that being in the space where your event will unfold often sparks the most meaningful ideas and direction. If you haven’t selected a location yet, we are happy to assist. We take great joy in connecting clients to event locations and hidden gems we know they’ll love.

How many guests can Bricōläge serve?

We provide full-service catering for events of all sizes—whether it’s an intimate gathering for 5 guests or a celebration for 500. Our team thoughtfully scales each experience to match the energy, setting, and vision of your event.

Does Bricōläge offer planning services or just catering?

At Bricolage, we believe the dining experience and what unfolds at the table is the heart of every gathering, and it’s never just catering. We plan and design our catering services aligned with clients and their creative collaborators. We offer coordination and design services with or without our catering services for events.

That said, we provide a limited number of clients each year with a full-service event packages to include logistics and planning, custom logo & branding, event design, guest gifting, multi-day catering, and culinary provisions for the entire event.

Can Bricōläge serve outdoors or at remote venues?

Absolutely. We are fully insured, hold an active catering permit through the Monterey County Health Department, and are well-versed in outdoor cooking techniques and best practices. Our team is equipped to stage and operate on-site kitchens in a wide range of settings. Over the course of our combined 10+ year professional careers in events, we've served hundreds of thousands of guests outside. Through every season, from Big Sur to Pebble Beach, from the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma to San Francisco, Brico al fresco. We’re always happy to be outside, and we’re even happier that it’s a party.

What catering service styles are available for my event?

While our culinary team is known for an artful eye for plating (and many of our clients are drawn to the visual impact of our chef’s tasting menus) we also offer stationary service and family-style service for events and gatherings that benefit from a flowing service station or shared plate experience.

We believe all formats can be elevated and memorable when thoughtfully executed. Choosing the right service style makes a significant impact on the overall flow and feeling of the event, which is why we take the time during our discovery phase to guide clients through the considerations: event timeline, location, guest needs, menu selections, floorplan, table size, beverage service, and personal preferences. We collaborate closely with clients, planners, and creative partners to select the service style that best supports the vision, setting, and guest experience.

Are tastings included, and how soon should we book?

Once your event is officially booked, we start planning a curated tasting experience tailored to your event style and overall direction. Given our commitment to seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, the tasting won’t always reflect the exact seasonality of your event—but that’s part of the beauty. Think of it as an opportunity to experience the chef’s style, get a feel for balance, and savor each bite of the season we’re tasting!

For us, the client tasting experience is an important time to listen closely and take notes on your palate, preferences, and overall priorities. Many of our clients are drawn to our farm-to-table philosophy and trust that the final menu will evolve with the freshest available ingredients - a responsibility we hold with care.

Do you accommodate various guest dietary needs?

Yes—we create fully customized menus for each event, including thoughtful substitution courses or ingredient adjustments for guests with dietary restrictions or aversions. We begin collecting dietary details upon booking and typically require all confirmed restrictions at the time of final guest count, which is due 21 days prior to your event. For any dietary updates submitted after that point, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate late guest notes. Our goal is to ensure every guest feels safe, well-fed, and equally delighted by the experience—no matter their dietary needs.
